Aloha, my name is Ana Grodan. I am a local maui girl, born and raised on Maui. Truly blessed to be from such a unique and wonderful island.
Both my parents were photographers, so I have always had a million amazing photos captured throughout my life, keepsaking almost every memory I can remember.
My family has owned a wedding planning business for the past 20 years, “A Promise Made in Paradise”, and that is how I became immersed into photography. I started out as a teen, photo assisting in their weddings.
I’ve had the honor of mentoring with an amazing professional photographer here on Maui, Aubrey Hord. I took her photography class in 2012 and then photo assisted with her, which was the best way to learn on site the tips and tricks to posing and lighting, crucial as an artist in this field.
As a photographer I specialize in weddings, family portraits, maternity and children photography. Whether it be a grooms first look at his bride, a family on vacation stoked on being at the beach on Maui, a mothers pride in her beautiful baby belly, or the free spirited smile in a child’s eyes, I strive to capture those precious moments for you to cherish forever.
When I’m not behind a camera, I’m usually enjoying three other activities:
1. soaking up the sun, swimming, surfing, shell diving; Absolutely my comfort zone is in the sand and sea. I wish I could calculate how much of my life was spent at the beach, my guestimation is 87%.
2. challenging my mind and body to make it through a 90 minute 108 degree bikram yoga class (its always worth it in the end.)
3. shopping- for me, for my friends, for fun. If theres a sale, I will be there, elbow deep.
